Durfee Model-21 Girder
Durfee Model-21 GirderDurfee Enterprises of McMinnville, Oregon exists and thrives today from the girder fork developed by the legendary Earl Durfee back in the legendary era of Woodstock in 1969. The timeless styling, strength, and performance attributes of the original continues today with Durfee’s narrow-glide Classic girder that owes its design to the last century and proves you can go home again. Joining this iconic staple is the new wide-glide width version, the MODEL-21 that takes the Classic design to the next level of strength and styling. Matter of fact, the “21” in the fork’s name refers to this being a 21st Century Durfee Girder.

The new appearance and aggressive stance come from the radically arched, triangulated legs that are a big 1.5” in size and differ totally from the skinnier, straight leg triangulation of the Classic. This fork really looks like it could take a punch and then some. The top and bottom angled rockers will also flow better with more contemporary custom designs. Where this fork also differs is in using a Works Performance coil-over adjustable shock for a more comfortable and controllable ride, instead of the Classic’s barrel spring for shock absorption. The MODEL-21 also steps it up by accepting high performance brakes from Brembo and Performance Machine as well as H-D brakes. Rubber-isolated handlebar mounts use the industry standard spacing to give the rider/ builder an almost unlimited choice of bars.
