Install the regulator so you can run the charging wire back to
the battery. Be sure to scrape the paint away from around the
holes so you get a good ground or it will not charge the battery.
It’s also a good idea to use star lock washers between the
frame and regulator. You can tighten these up now and hook
the plug to the motor stator on the case.

Now you can install the sheet metal.

One trick I have learned is to use plastic washers between
the paint and the sheet metal. They are .030 thick and smaller
than the chrome washers. They don’t seem to mushroom the
paint like the steel washers do, and what little is pushed out is
covered by the chrome washer. This, for the most part, prevents
the mushroom paint from squeezing out as you tighten stuff,
which usually hardens over time and then breaks off allowing
rust and chipped paint to ruin the look of your bike.

Now you can run the wires as necessary
from the Thunder-Heart box to the
necessary places. The wires on the box
are marked as to their destination and
can easily be pulled through the frame
to each location.

Once the wiring is complete, you can make the oil lines and route the brake
lines. First, you should install the primary belt drive plate after you install the oil
filter line fittings on the backside.
