Penny's Test Ride at American IronHorse

Penny's Test Ride at American IronHorse I was the lucky one from Barnett’s Magazine to attend the American IronHorse 2007 model press introduction. The first bike I rode was the 2007 Outlaw, which ended up my favorite. The low center of gravity made it easy to ride. At first, the front end tweaked a little in slow turns, but after a couple of miles it was no problem. The Legend was next. Being vertically challenged, the handlebar reach was a little too long, but the forward controls were positioned perfect for my short legs. The wide 240 rear tire made me fight it a bit, but all in all it was a good ride.

Jeff Long and Scott Waters really outdid themselves when they designed the Slammer.

The sleek look of the Venomous split tank, Soft-Style frame, Stealth swing arm, and custom V-handlebars, among other things, really impressed me. As low as it was, it seemed a little top heavy but the ride was smooth due to the Progressive air-ride suspension. The “low profile digital information center” was not easy to see, but who really cares when you’re riding a bike with a 111” S&S Super Sidewinder Plus engine! The headlight is manufactured by American IronHorse, who hopes this design will help riders instantly recognize an American IronHorse when it’s coming their way.
