In 1997 Matt Hotch opened HotMatch Custom
Cycles in Fullerton, California. After reaching many milestones in his
career like his success of his patented parts, Discover Channel Biker
Build-Off victories, numerous appearances on various shows as well as
worldwide acknowledgment, Matt thought it was time to relaunch his building
empire. It became inevitable that while he was reinventing himself the
company name should change as well and Matt's old company, HotMatch Custom
Cycles, became his new company, Matt Hotch Designs. Just like that. You
ask why? Well, Matt wanted to get back to basics with a new company playing
directly on his name. So Matt Hotch Designs seemed like a logical choice,
seeing as that's his name.
Matt is consistently creating original products that have become an industry
standard. His designs are known for carrying a sleek and seamless body
and to showcase his inventions such as the springless kickstand and the
flush mount gas cap. Coined "the Invisible Man" and "Mr.
Clean," he's mastered the art of hiding everything from hydraulic
hoses to electrical wiring. In his radical creations, not one detail is
overlooked. Matt only builds one or two bikes a year and every bike has
a lifetime warranty. His shop is located in Fullerton's historic 1924
Elephant Packing House that features inspiring oak floors, brick walls
and 24-foot high ceilings. Check out Matt's web site at www.matthotchdesigns.com.
Hopefully there'll be some info there about why they were packing elephants
in Fullerton in 1924.
