The
Athena, Big Bear Choppers Discovery Channel® Biker Build-Off winning
design, will be available to the public and BBC dealers around September.
The bike will be offered unassembled or turnkey, and fully government
compliant with a stamped VIN number.
This BBO bike was a tribute to Athena Aspiotes, daughter of BBC employee
Mike "The Greek" Aspiotes, who was killed in an accident in
2005. BBC named, built and painted her portrait on the tank to honor her
life.
The Athena design is made from the mold of the successful Sled model with
an Alsop twist and will be offered as a chopper or a pro street version
as the premier model out of BBC's twelve model fleet. BBC believes this
new motorcycle model will up the bar in the American other V-twin production
market, providing customers with the ultimate production motorcycle at
a reasonable price. The Athena will have required deviations from the
BBO bike to satisfy government regulations such as a front brake, legal
exhaust, air cleaner, different hand controls, wheels, etc. You do get
a choice of springer or hydraulic forks, five different PM wheel sets,
BBC's exclusive 100" S&S Smooth engine, Baker RSD 6-speed and
a host of other top-line parts standard with options galore, depending
on your wallet. MSRP is $27,900 for the unassembled kit to $35,400 for
a turnkey with a cool paint scheme. Be sure to check out BBC's website
