Long
before legends like Indian Larry and Jesse appeared on television, L&L
Choppers were admirers of both their work and their lifestyles. Not only
did they hold Indian Larry's infusion of Old School style with modern
technology in high regard but his life story and personality as well.
Jesse James got their respect for his reintroduction of the classic chopper
high-neck frame style and for the skills he used making them. Television
appearances featuring both their work and personalities brought a heightened
interest in custom bikes in general, but not everyone has the talent,
money or time to build a bike like theirs.
L&L Choppers, home-based in The Netherlands, decided to try and fill
that void by creating a low-budget Sportster-based bikt called the attacKIT,
which offers and Old School look while being builder-friendly. This consists
of installing the engine, wheels, gas tank, brakes and even the belt drive
from a used EVO Sporty onto attacKIT's hardtail frame (which includes
a choice of three oil tanks) and presto! You've got the makings of a cool
bike at a reasonable price. You have to do some grinding and welding and
make your own seat along with the actual assembly, but you did want to
build your own custom, didn't you? L&L Choppers has called your bluff
with a bike kit that someone with reasonable mechanical skills can build
and ride before they grow too disinterested to finish the project. A great
first custom or something to continually modify, it's up to you.
L&L Choppers offers not only building advice but has additional parts
such as a choice of forks, handlebars, exhausts and seats to personalize
your attacKIT even more. Kit car companies have been successfully providing
this same type of build-up for years, why not motorcycles? If you're interested
in finding out more about this approach to making a personalized ride
with direct owner involvement, contact L&L Choppers at www.l-l-choppers.com.
Dealer inquiries welcome.
