Jay Allen Broken Spoke Saloon Sturgis, ND

Jay Allen Broken Spoke Saloon Sturgis, NDBroken Spoke Saloon owner Jay Allen wrote in recently that hitting the big Five-O on his last birthday made it more urgent for him to complete some items on his "to do" list. First up was firing up his Indian Chief Bonneville Racer, putting on some leathers and hitting the salt. He got the old gal up to 117.302 mph, down a little on Anthony Hopkins' character, but pretty good for an unstreamlined flathead. Next up he got his 124" S&S powered FXR out and blasted it down the salt for a class record of 163.965 mph. He even started drag racing the FXR and is a member of the 10 Second Club. He does adopt a more streamlined posture than that pictured above when competing. After the play was done, Jay decided on some business changes as well. He purchased 600 acres of the South Dakota landscape and is opening a camping/entertainment complex named Sturgis County Line. He will keep his Saloon on Lazelle Street but has very high hopes for his new location. Much of the facility will be open and ready for business at the 2006 Sturgis Rally. The new Saloon will be located about 2 1/2 miles from Bear Butte. Check out www.brokenspokesaloon.com for further details.
