The
Bobzilla Roller is based on Billy Lane's personal ride, a 1945 Knucklehead
bobber. "Bobbers were the first choppers and I have always loved
them," said Billy. Bobzilla's name comes from its moderate rake and
stretch bobber frame with a single elliptical downtube and a wide rear
end, accommodating a 230 mm tire with belt drive and a 250 mm using a
chain. The frame will allow installation of any Big Twin from a Knucklehead
to an Evo and Softail-type transmissions from four to six speeds. Frames
come with Billy's version of a 30's era Indian leaf-spring fork and rides
well with conventional springers and hydraulic forks, too. Bobzilla's
frame features gas tank mounts welded in place, a narrowed and lowered
seat area, neck cups with internal fork stops and passenger peg mounts.
Billy said, "I know not everyone has the tools and equipment at their
fingertips that I have in my shop so I have done virtually all of the
difficult fabrication work for you. However, I have left the big choices
up to the builder." Billy's shop, Choppers, Inc. of Melbourne, Florida,
has an extensive line of quality parts to help finish Bobzilla to your
taste. Handlebars, controls, sissybars, oil tanks, a spun rear fender
mounted Billy-style, wheels--you name it, they got it.
